Talking Sticks

What are they?

Traditionally, many Native American tribes used talking sticks when conducting council meetings. Whoever held the stick was the designated speaker.

Today many circles, gatherings, and school groups have adopted this cusotm. Organizations from Story Tellers and Talking Circles to Teen Mentoring programs have found this helpful in their group process.
