Our day of hiking among the old growth, while Elizabeth* read some of her haiku to us was wonderful, and inspiring. (See picture on main page.) In fact, it inspired one of our members, Jan Hughes, to share the following:
Delightful Davis
Moss and old growth directed
Haiku happiness
Nurse log giving life
Nature's cornucopia
Moss fir flower fern leaf
And indeed, in spite of the gray skies, there was much beauty and, I believe, happiness shared along the trail among the ferns and salal as we trouped through, stopping only for bits of poetry!
